เวลามันช่างผ่านไปเร็วมากๆ หมดไปอีกหนึ่งปี นั่งนึกย้อนความว่าปี 2013 ที่ผ่านมาไปที่ไหนบ้าง นั่งนับไปนับมา โอ้แม่เจ้า 9 ประเทศ (ไม่เลวแฮะ ^_^)

Time is flying. Year 2013 is gone. I have more time to think about my 2013 journeys during the holidays. 9 countries in one year “Awesome”! 🙂

We don’t have to be rich, just happy and grateful that we have the opportunity to travel. Let’s have a look st Tip’s Food and Travel’s 2013 journeys. Here’s where I went and some pretty photos from each country 🙂  Happy New Year!

1. Thailand (เมืองไทยบ้านเรา)

ทุกครั้งที่มีโอกาสกลับบ้าน จะต้องขอแวะไปชมบรรยากาศแถววัดอรุณ แม่น้ำเจ้าพระยา เรือหางยาว กับวัดไทย บ้านเราก็สวยไม่แพ้ใครจริงๆ 🙂

พูดถึงอาหารแน่นอนที่ส้มตำต้องเป็นหนึ่งในอาหารจานแรกๆที่ตกถึงท้อง ทานที่ไหนก็ไม่อร่อยเท่าบ้านเรา >< ทานของคาวเสร็จก็ต้องมาต่อที่ของหวาน “ข้าวเหนียวมะม่วง” และตบท้ายด้วยน้ำมะพร้าวเย็นๆชื่นใจ ที่บ้านเคยมีต้นมะพร้าว 2 ต้น และคุณพ่อก็จะเป็นคนปีนขึ้นไปเก็บตลอด แถมปอกเองอีกด้วย นี่อาจเป็นหนึ่งในหลายๆเหตุผลที่ชอบดื่มน้ำมะพร้าว นอกจากความอร่อยแล้ว มันยังมีความทรงจำดีๆเกี่ยวกับคุณพ่อด้วย 🙂

Every time that I have a chance to go back home (Thailand), I will go to Chao Praya River and watch the view of Arun temple, people hop on and off from the public boat. There is quite a number of decent Thai restaurants nearby too.

When I return to Thailand, of course Thai spicy green papaya salad is one of the first dishes that I eat. No place like home! After my main dish, mango and sweet sticky rice is the dessert on my list and nothing compares with ending your meal with cold fresh coconut juice. We used to have 2 coconut trees at home. My dad would climb up, collect coconuts, and peel the green part out. Maybe this is one of the reasons that I like coconut juice. Beside being delicious, it reminds me of my dad 🙂

 

 

 

 

ช่วงหลังๆมานี่ได้มีโอกาสไปเชียงใหม่บ่อยพอควร ต้องยอมรับว่าถึงแม้นักท่องเที่ยวมากขึ้นแต่เชียงใหม่ก็ยังคงสเน่ห์ของชาวเหนือ วิถีชีวิตเรียบง่าย ไม่เร่งรีบ ค่ากินอยู่ไม่แพง มีถนนคนเดินให้พอมีสีสัน วัดวาอารามมากมายแถมอาหารเหนือก็อร่อยไม่แพ้ใคร โดยเฉพาะข้าวซอย ส่วนเทศกาลที่ชอบที่สุดคือยี่เปง

I went to Chiang Mai quite often lately, I have to admit that even though we have many tourists there, Chiang Mai still has its charm of Northern lifes: laid-back lifestyle, reasonable cost of living, walking street markets during the weekend (one is on Saturday night, and another one is on Sunday night), beautiful Thai temples, and a great typical dish “Kao Soi”. Also, my favorite festival here is “Yi Peng”. It is held each year before Loy Kra Thong festival. Check from the Thai calendar because the date of the festival depends on the Lunar calendar.

 

 

 

 

2. Vietnam (เวียดนาม)
พอพูดถึงอาหารเวียดนาม คนส่วนใหญ่มักนึกถึงเฝอหรือไม่ก็ปอเปียะเวียดนาม แต่โดนส่วนตัวแล้วขอพูดถึง Com Tam เพราะมันเป็นอาหารที่คล้ายอาหารไทยมาก มันคือข้าวทานกับหมูทอดแต่ต่างกันที่ข้าวของเค้าเป็นข้าวหัก ไม่ใช่ข้าวสวยหอมมะลิแบบบ้านเรา

ปีที่แล้วได้ไปช่วง Tet holiday ซึ่งก็คือปีใหม่นั่นเอง และเพราะได้ไปเวียดนามถึงทราบว่าปีใหม่ของคนเวียดนามกับตรุษจีนของคนจีนนั้น เป็นช่วงอาทิตย์เดียวกัน ร้านค้าต่างปิดพักผ่อนยาว 5-10วันได้ ตกแต่งประดับไฟเต็มท้องถนน ผู้คนต่างออกมา shopping ช่วงกลางคืน มองไปทางไหนก็เห็นแต่มอเตอร์ไซด์ ช่วงกลางวันคนก็ออกมาเดินแถวถนนที่มีการจัดงานปีใหม่ เห็นสาวเวียดนามหลายคนที่แต่งตัวด้วยชุดประจำชาติ สวยๆกันทั้งนั้น

When people talk about Vietnamese food, mostly they will think about Pho (Vietnamese noodle soup) or Vietnamese Spring-roll. For me, I want to mention “Com Tam” because it is similar to many Thai dishes. It is made from broken rice. Normally it is served with grilled pork. We found a local place that has delicious Com Tam at the street corner near our hotel. It is unbelievably cheap!

Last year, I went to Vietnam during Tet Holiday (Vietnamese New Year) and it is the same week as Chinese New Year. Most local vendors are closed for a week or two. They decorated the streets with many lights. Locals came out for shopping at night. All I could see was hundreds of motorcycles in each street. I saw beautiful Vietnamese women in Ao Dai at the fair that they have for their New Year.

 

 

 

 

3. Finland (ฟินแลนด์)

อันนี้ขอนับแบบไม่เป็นทางการเพราะแค่รอเปลี่ยนเครื่องที่สนามบิน Helsinki แต่ก็ถือว่าได้เหยียบเข้าประเทศเค้าาาา 🙂

It was only my transit to Vienna 🙂

 

4. Austria (ออสเตรีย)

ประเทศที่ไม่เคยคิดว่าจะได้ไป ต้องขอขอบคุณสามีที่พาไปเปิดหูเปิดตา ได้ไปดูที่สวยๆมากมายในโลกนี้ สถานที่ๆชอบที่สุดในเวียนนาคือ พระราชวัง Schonbrunn เพราะวิวสวยมากๆแถมยังได้เป็น World Heritage site อีกด้วย ค่าเข้าแพงพอสมควรแต่มีหลายราคาขึ้นอยู่กับว่าเราอยากเข้าไปดูส่วนไหนบ้าง ไหนๆก็มาแล้ว จะไม่เข้าไปดูความสวยงามและความอลังการของพระราชวังก็เดี๋ยวจะขึ้นชื่อว่ามาไม่ถึงเวียนนา 🙂

มายุโรปต้องใช้พลังงานเยอะเพราะเดินเยอะมาก เดินมากก็หิวเร็ว อาหารที่นี่ส่วนมากคือไส้กรอกคะแต่ไม่ใช่ไส้กรอกที่เราเห็นตามซุปเปอร์บ้านเรานะคะ อาหารประจำชาติของเวียนนาคือ Schnitzel ต้นฉบับต้องทำมาจากเนื้อลูกวัว แต่ช่วงหลังๆก็มีการใช้เนื้อหมูด้วย ทานแล้วก็เหมือนทานหมูชุบแป้งทอดแต่ไม่มันเท่าบ้านเรา อ้อ ต้องทานคู่กับมันฝรั่งและบีบมะนาวด้วย

I had never planed to go to Austria but because my old boss lives there, we went to visit him. My favorite place in Vienna is Schonbrunn Palace. It has beautiful architecture, an amazing city view from the hill above, and it is a World Heritage Site too. The entrance fee is pretty pricey but there are many choices of fee, it depends on which part of the palace that you want to visit.

We walked a lot in Europe, so I used it as an excuse to eat more often 🙂 Most of the common street food here is sausages/bratwursts but the true Viennese dish is the schnitzel. The original Schnitzel is make from veal but you can find pork Schnitzel in many restaurants too.

 

 

นอกจากเวียนนาแล้ว อีกเมืองที่น่าไปคือ Salzburg ได้ไปดูบ้านเกิดของโมซาร์ด และก็ได้ลองทานโมซาร์ดบอลด้วย อิอิ อย่าคิดลึกค่า มันคือช็อคโกแลตกลมๆต่างหาก

Besides Vienna, another place we went in Austria was Salzburg. We went to Mozart’s birthplace and bought some Mozart’s balls (uh.. I meant chocolate haha)

 

5. Germany

จากออสเตรียก็ไปต่อที่เยอรมัน สามีอยากไปหาเพื่อนที่ไม่ได้เจอกันมาเป็นสิบๆปี เป็นทริปที่หนักไปทางดื่มจริงๆ ไปมา 3 เมืองที่เยอรมัน Munich, Augsburgและ Passau ดื่มเบียร์ทุกมื้อกลางวันและเย็น แต่ดีอย่างที่เบียร์ที่เค้าดื่มกัน แอลกอฮอลไม่สูงมาก ดื่มได้เรื่อยๆ บางคนดื่มเสมือนเป็นน้ำเปล่าซะงั้น

We went to Germany to visit long lost friends of my husband. We drank a lot in 3 cities both lunch and dinner. Well….who doesn’t drink beer in Germany 🙂

 

 

 

6. Hungary (ฮังการี)

ในที่สุดก็มาถึงประเทศที่อยากมามว้ากกก “ฮังการี” เมืองแรกที่ได้ไปสัมผัสคือ บูดาเปส ที่ชอบมากๆคือบรรยากาศ มันได้ feel ของยุโรปจริงๆ รู้สึกเหมือนเดินย้อนเวลาไปในช่วงสงครามโลกครั้งที่ 2 ตึกราบ้านช่องเก่ามาก บางตึกบอกได้เลยว่าถูกสร้างขึ้นมาในช่วงที่คอมมิวนิสต์ยึดครองประเทศเพราะมันช่างเรียบ ไม่มีเสน่ห์หรือความสวยงามทางสถาปัตยกรรมเลย ดีที่ตึกอย่างนี้มีไม่เยอะ ที่ชอบที่สุดคือเดินข้ามแม่น้ำดานูบจากฝั่ง Pest ไปฝั่ง Buda บน the Chain bridge พอถึงฝั่ง Buda ก็ถ่ายรูปคู่กับสิงโตและเดินไปชมแสงของพระอาทิตย์ตกดินตรงข้ามกับ the Hungarian Parliament Building จำได้ว่านั่งอยู่หลายชั่วโมงมาก บอกได้เลยว่ารูปภาพไม่สวยเท่าของจริง หลังจากพระอาทิตย์ตกลับฟ้า ก็เดินกลับไปฝั่ง Pest. เพื่อหาของทาน อากาศเย็นๆช่วงเดือนเมษา-พฤษภา ชวนให้อยากลองทานซุป เดินกลับไปยังร้านโปรด “Drum Cafe & Goulash Bar” แถวที่พัก สั่งซุปกระเทียม-ชีสใส่เห็ดกับdumplingแบบยุโรป อร่อยเหาะอย่าบอกใครจริงๆ

Hungary was one of my dream destinations.The first city that we went in Hungary was Budapest. What I like about Budapest is the atmosphere. I know it is weird but it has a feeling of real Europe for me. We walked around and it felt like we had a time machine and went back to WWII period. Maybe because of the many old buildings. You can tell that some buildings had been built during the communist period because they lack the beauty of European architecture. You can walk on the Chain Bridge over the Danube River in the evening and watch the sunset reflected on the Hungarian Parliament Building. It was a stunning sunset reflection. I wish the picture could show you how beautiful it was 🙂 After the sunset moment, we went back to our favorite restaurant on the Pest side ” Drum Cafe & Goulash Bar“. Garlic and cheese mushroom soup with dumplings was such a perfect dish on a cold day in April/May.

 

 

ต่อจากบูดาเปสก็ไปเที่ยวแบบ one day trip ที่เมือง Gyor เป็นเมืองเล็กๆที่มีพิพิธภัณฑ์ที่น่าสนใจ “Xantus János Museum”เสียดายอย่างเดียวคืออ่านคำอธิบายไม่ออกเพราะไม่มีภาษาอังกฤษแต่ยังดีที่มีคนพาเดินชมและอธิบายให้ฟัง

After Budapest, we went to Gyor for a one day trip. It has a small museum (Xantus János Museum) that has interesting information about Gyor. Too bad that they don’t have any explanations in English but we had someone show us around the museum.

 

 

7. Czech Republic

อีกหนึ่งประเทศที่เป็นหลายๆคนอยากไปให้ได้คือ  Czech Republic ถ้าเอ่ย ถึง Czech Republic แน่นอนทุกคนต้องนึกถึง Prague เรียกได้ว่าเป็นหนึ่งในอันดับต้นๆที่คนทั่วโลกอยากมาเยือน ขนาดตอนที่ไปคือช่วงที่ยังไม่ใช่ peak season ของหน้าท่องเที่ยว คนล้นหลามเต็มสะพาน Charles Bridge อันโด่งดัง เดินไปเรื่อยๆก็ไปเจอนักท่องเที่ยวมากมายตรงตึก Town Hall & Astronomical Clock เก่า เราด้วยความอยากรู้ว่าเค้ายืนรอดูอะไรกัน ก็ยืนรอด้วย สุดท้ายถึงบางอ้อ คนเค้ามาดูนาฬิกาที่ถูกสร้างขึ้นตั้งแต่ คศ 1500 ถือเป็นนาฬิกา astronomical ที่เก่าเป็นอันดับสามของโลก  เสียงระฆังจะดังตีบอกเวลาทุกหนึ่งชั่วโมง และก็จะมีพาเหรดของรูปปั้นออกมาให้ชม ตกเย็นด้วยความอยากทานพาสต้าก็เลยเข้าร้านอาหารอิตาเลี่ยนสั่งเส้นเฟตตูชินี เส้นโปรดและเหลือบไปเห็นคำว่าเนื้อกระต่าย อืม ด้วยความอยากลอง ทานเสร็จ บอกได้คำเดียวว่ารสชาติเหมือนเนื้อไก่เลย

Many people want to visit the Czech Republic because of Prague. We went there before the tourist season started but we still had a problem finding each other on the famous Charles Bridge. After that we walked around the city and saw many tourists were looking up at the twelve Apostles at the old Town Hall Tower and Astronomical Clock. We were curious, so we waited for a while and found out that  they were waiting to see the procession of  the twelve Apostles. We ending our day at a Italian restaurant and it was my first time trying rabbit meat. It tasted like chicken though!

 

 

 

อีกเมืองที่ประทับใจมากคือ Sedlec จุดหมายหลักของเมืองนี้คือโบสถ์เล็กๆ ถามว่าทำไมคนสนใจมากันนัก ก็เพราะเป็นโบสถ์ที่ตกแต่งด้วยกระดูกของคนที่ตายไปแล้ว 40,000-70,000คน โดย Frantisek Rint ใครที่อยากทราบประวัติของโบสถ์และรูปภาพเพิ่มเติมให้คลิกที่ Bone Church

Another impressive city in Czech is Sedlec which is near Kutna Hora. The main tourist attraction here is the Bone church. It is a church decorated with more than 40,000 bones by Frantisek Rint.  Here is the story of this church by themadtraveleronline. He has many great photos of the Bone church too.

 

 

8. Slovakia (สโลวาเกีย)
ประเทศสุดท้ายที่ได้ไปเยือนก่อนกลับไปเวียนนาอีกรอบคือ ประเทศสโลวาเกีย เมืองBratislava เป็นเมืองเล็กๆที่มีสเน่ห์ไม่แพ้เมืองอื่นๆ เหมาะสำหรับวันสบายๆที่ไม่อยากไปในเมืองที่มีคนเยอะเกิน เที่ยวแค่วันเดียวก็ทั่วแล้ว

Bratislava is another nice one day trip destination in Slovakia and it is not too far from Vienna.

 

 

 

9. Turkey (ตุรกี)

สุดท้ายนี้คือ ตุรกี ประเทศที่เป็นส่วนหนึ่งของยุโรปและเอเชีย เมืองหลวงคือ Ankara แต่เมืองที่โดดเด่นสำหรับนักท่องเที่ยวคือเมือง Istanbul และมีอีกสองเมืองที่น่าเที่ยวมากๆคือ Safranbolu ( a World Heritage City)  ที่เมืองนี้ทำขนมประจำชาติตุรกี (Turkish delight)ได้อร่อยมว้ากกก ส่วนอีกเมืองคือ Amarsra (เป็นเมืองชายทะเลที่ติดกับ Black Sea) นักท่องเที่ยวส่วนมากที่มาเที่ยวสองเมืองหลังนี้คือคนตุรกีเอง เราจะไม่ค่อยเห็นนักท่องเที่ยวต่างชาติซักเท่าไหร่

I’m lucky to have a chance to visit this amazing country twice. Last year we went to Ankara, the capital city in Turkey, to visit good friends of my husband. We also went to Istanbul for my husband’s friend’s wedding, and Safranbolu and Amarsra for our pleasure. I am very impressed with Istanbul as usual but I did enjoy our time in Safranbolu very much. Most of the tourists in Safranbolu and Amarsra are Turkish. People are nice and friendly. I had great food and the best Turkish delight in Safranbolu. I have details about where to stay in Safranbolu from my previous blog too 🙂
